A week ago, GAS and I met at MOA for lunch and Sue bought Everleigh

an Easter Bunny. The Bunny was a big hit.

Saturday, Mar 20, was Jesse's baby shower.

What a wonderful group of women already love this baby!

Thanks to everyone who attended in person or in spirit for making

it a truly special day for this new family member!

I dare you to watch this video and not end up with a smile on your face.....

Everleigh is pictured here with her oldest

"brother" Peanut about 2 weeks ago.

Sadly, Peanut died yesterday. He had

been with Ami since she first moved to St. Paul

so obviously a big place in her heart.

It's my Grandma Mieska's birthday today. Here's a picture of the 2

of us from 1950. In this picture she's actually 10 years younger

than I am right now...yikes! I think there's a pretty strong

family resemblance. She was born in 1900 and died in 1998...just days

before I became a grandma myself. She was a no nonsense kind of

woman....one who loved a game of cards (and winning), who took care

of her family when grandpa went blind (long before there was a

feminist movement), and who always had a project going...

something to work on every day. It's funny how often I think of her

during the course of a regular week. I'm sure she is enjoying a birthday

with loved ones today (punchka anyone?), including my dad.
