End of February

Here's Everleigh chilling at home the last week of February....

Everleigh is spending a long weekend in Chicago to meet her new cousin, Kate.

Ami and Everleigh will be gone from Sat thru Tues so it will be a nice long visit

for sisters, cousins, aunts and grandparents. Congratulations to Jill and Ryan

on the newest Schumacher girl.

Baby Shower

Jesse's co-workers held a baby shower for her Thursday of this week.

What a thoughtful way for them to celebrate this new life and give

Jesse special attention. Lots of fun times, good foods and wonderful

gifts. How nice of everyone!

I was watching TV this week and thought of my oldest grandson, Matthew.

There was a commercial for a new movie "Diary of a Wimpy Kid".

It is a book I know he has read and it is HILARIOUS! I don't

know if he plans to see the movie, but I do! There are about 5 books

in the series from this author. It's written from the perspective of

a 12-year-old with an older brother and a younger brother

and all the indignities his family put him through....must reading

for any 10-12 year old. Matthew, I hope we can see it

together some day! Love you!

February 19 part 1

Here's some random moments with Miss Everleigh

February 19

An important week

Love my new activity seat!

A couple of events worthy of note for little Everleigh this week:

1. Cousin Kate Ashley was born in Chicago to Aunt Jill and Uncle Ryan

(and cousin Ella) on Feb. 18.

2. Great Grandma Mieska turned 80 on Feb. 20.

Everleigh and I took a couple of field trips this weeks. First to Grand Ave for some window shopping. Weather was finally nice enough for outdoors!

And then we took a trip to MOA on Friday for some shopping and walking. Everleigh was on her best behavior and all went well. Grandma managed to get strollers, car seats, diaper bag, purse, cell phone, keys, jackets all there and back!

Everleigh has a new activity chair that she really likes to sit in and play in. Her little feet can almost touch the bottom and she can sit in the chair and kick and kick. It's good entertainment for at least 20 minutes.

She is using her voice more and more all the time...testing the different tones and sounds she can make. She seems quite pleased with herself. Interesting how different each sound seems.

Meeting Brody

Stopped by to meet new grandnephew, Brody, last night.
We're starting him out with the right gear....HD booties

Ben & Jesse welcome Brody to the extended family.

And I get a chance to practice holding a boy baby again...

But I think Brody favors his daddy (and vice versa).
He's a cutie (Brody) and of course, Barry.
Thanks, Beth & Barry for time to meet your new little guy.

still Christmas in February

The lovely lighted Christmas tree we put out on the front
patio in December with its cheery little multi-color lights
is still on the patio....frozen into the patio and buried under
about 3 feet of snow. Of course we don't light it any more
but it's probably going to have to stay there til May if it
doesn't stop snowing soon.....8 more inches today with
snow continuing through tomorrow! yikes!

Everleigh is 5 months old

Here are some recent photos of Everleigh and some of her fans.
Everleigh is growing. Here are some things she is doing:
1. She can roll and roll and roll. You might put her on a blanket on
the floor, but in a minute or two she has rolled off the blanket and
is trying to get under the coffee table.
2. She recognizes her bottle. She knows when it is on its way
and gets very impatient until she has it in her mouth.
She can act like she hasn't eaten for days.
3. She can give you the "raspberries". and she knows it.
4. I've been reading that babies, even tiny babies, should have
stories read to them. They learn about voice inflection and
actually learn the language and she definitely loves to have
anything read to her...even my non-fiction biographies!
She watches my mouth move when we're on the floor together. so cute.
5. We try to walk when I am here most days and she loves the ride in
her Baby Bjorn...doesn't matter where we go but she enjoys the
rhythm of the walk.
6. She's going to Chicago this weekend to visit her Schumacher fan
club. I know they will love seeing all the changes. Safe travels!
